Roof-top Solar – Is It Still Worth It?
May 14, 2024 8:00 a.m.
In the past few years, Marin homeowners have seen their monthly energy bills skyrocket while the utility company has made $2.24 billion in profits just in 2023 alone – nice for their shareholders but tough on the consumer. The answer seems simple – invest in your home and not PG&E. With solar + battery, homeowners can offset up to 80-90% of their electricity bills. If you add an EV, you will save thousands of dollars at the gas pump as well. Carolyn is originally from Munich, Germany, and holds an M.A. in Communication Science. After 20+ years in market research as a focus group moderator, she made the switch to non-profit organizations. For over 5 years she was working at the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce building community through outreach and programs. Her latest role was Director of Member Relations and Programs including managing the San Rafael Leadership Institute, which she also graduated from in 2021. Carolyn is new to the clean energy field but in her heart she is a true environmentalist – Reduce-Reuse-Recycle! She is actively volunteering for LITA (Love is the Answer) and is sitting on the board of directors at UGAS San Francisco (United German American Societies). |
