Successful Make A Difference Day project at Pickleweed

San Rafael Harbor Rotary Club sponsored a project to re-landscape the Pickleweed Park Child Care Center in conjunction with San Rafael Public Works and Boy Scout Troop 2000. 
The groups came together, under the leadership of Harbor Rotary to clear the weeds, terrace the mound, install a small retaining wall, and plant water-resistant plants to beautify Pickleweed Park Child Care Center. Harbor Rotary also provided served lunch, catered by Meals of Marin, to all of the hungry volunteers. The project was part of a quarterly hands on project, funded by Harbor Rotary. The project took place on Make A Difference Day, the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
