Bill was born in San Francisco and has spent his entire life in the San Francisco Bay Area. He spent 31 years working in the people development business while owning the Dale Carnegie Training® franchise for San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties.
Bill has personally trained thousands of people to sell more professionally, manage more effectively and speak more forcefully and confidently. He served as an Instructor Trainer for Dale Carnegie, training new instructors in various Dale Carnegie sales and presentation programs. He is the author of one of the newest Carnegie programs, "Making Sales: How to Jump Start Your Sales Career."
In addition, Bill has been a speaker for over 2900 local, regional, national and international meetings, and has appeared on several radio and television programs. He was presented with awards at fourteen annual Dale Carnegie International Conventions, including the coveted "Above and Beyond the Call" award.
Bill is Past-President of the Executives' Association of San Francisco, and has served on the Boards of the International Dale Carnegie Franchisee Association, the San Francisco Boys and Girls Club and Junior Achievement of the Bay Area where he also served on the Executive Committee for seven years. He is also past Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for Provident Central Credit Union.
Bill was President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco in 1994-95. During his year as President, he served as Aid to Rotary International President Bill Huntley for the President's Conference in San Francisco, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The United Nations. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, Benefactor and Major Donor. He was Co-Chair of the Centennial Celebration for the Rotary Club of San Francisco. He is Past-President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation. He has chaired the fundraiser for his club – an auction, raffle and dinner dance four times, including two at SBC Park (Home of the Giants).
He has been the Trainer for the Instructors at seven Far West PETS, as well as serving as an instructor. He has also been a trainer at Governor-Elect Training Seminars six times.
Since selling the Carnegie franchise in July of 2001, Bill has been doing more work in Rotary, improved his golf game considerably (until this year!), and he and his wife, Betsy, have traveled extensively. Bill and Betsy have been married nearly 47 years and have two children and four grandchildren.
