Sierra Murphy, RCSRH Scholarship Recipient

Sierra Murphy is a 2015 alumna of San Rafael High School and recipient of the 2015-16 Noushin-Sharif Murphy Memorial Scholarship. She looks forward to sharing with Rotary her educational journey over the last decade and plans for the future. 
 
Sierra received bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences, Mathematics, and Chemistry from Arizona State University in 2019. She graduated in 2024 with a JD from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and received her MD from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in 2026. 
 
Sierra attributes her opportunities for higher education to scholarships and credits her success to the endless support of family and friends. She is grateful for the Rotary Club of San Rafael, especially Hugh Murphy.

Our District Global Scholar for 2025

A Rotary District or Global Grant scholar pursues graduate-level studies abroad in one of Rotary’s seven focus areas—such as peace, health, or education—while acting as an ambassador of goodwill. Scholars engage with local Rotary clubs, participate in community service, and bridge cultural gaps, aiming to create sustainable, long-term change.

Elizabeth will discuss her experiences overseas as the 2025 Global Scholar for our District 5150.
