Water Poverty in the Navajo Nation

David will share the almost unfathomable story of water poverty right here in the United States. It is estimated that 70,000 Navajo living in the Four Corners Region of the Southwest do not have access to clean running water. This deficit has contributed to the Navajo experiencing the worst outbreak of Covid-19 in the country. David will outline the situation, explain the challenges to accessing water in the Navajo Nation and detail what Rotary is doing to resolve the issue.

David joined Rotary in 2010 after a long career in financial counseling and money management. He led the  Rotary Club of Sedona's project to bring Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to their area in 2012. Since that time, the program has distributed over 100,000 new, age-appropriate books to pre-schoolers in the communities in and around Sedona. He has served as District Governor for District 5495, Rotary Foundation Annual Fund Chair, PETS Chair, District Assembly Chair, Leadership and Development Chair and Visioning Chair. He is a Paul Harris Society member, major donor Level 3, and Legacy Society Member of the Rotary Foundation.
